Grasshopper Point Picnic Area

Grasshopper Point is located just North of Sedona at the base of Oak Creek Canyon. It is next to a cliff-side swimming hole on the creek and is popular with swimmers and those that enjoy picnicking amidst incredible views of the landscape. It's an ideal spot for easy hiking, fishing and taking scenic pictures. Camping, campfires, glass containers and pets are prohibited. Bring your own water. Picnic tables and vault toilets are available. Cliff jumping and diving are discouraged for personal safety. The pool has varying depths, hidden rocks and unforeseen objects that could be dangerous.

Season and Hours. Grasshopper Point is open all year and is restricted to day use hours between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM from Memorial Day through Labor Day and from 8:00 AM to dusk the rest of the year.

Fees. Fee is $8.00 per vehicle up to 5 people. Walk-ins are $1.00 each. The Weekly Red Rock Pass or the GRAND Annual Red Rock Pass can be used in lieu of this fee. Holders of the America-the-Beautiful Senior or Access pass, or the Golden AGE or Golden ACCESS passes will receive a 50% discount

Directions. Go North from Sedona for about 2 miles on Highway 89A. The area is located on the east side of US 89A. All roads are paved.
