This one is a gem. Sheer beauty in lush Oak Creek Canyon about 6 miles north of Sedona AZ. Located very near Slide Rock, this campground features swimming, cliff jumping, hiking and trout fishing. Manzanita is one of the most popular camping spots in Arizona and ideal for families.

Manzanita camping grounds feature 18 single camping sites that are available for picnic day use from 10 AM to 1 PM. Overnight camping is limited to tents and small sleep-in vehicles. Trailers and RVs are prohibited. Reservations are recommended particularly during peak season from late spring through the middle of September. First-come sites are available, so come early to get the best spots.

Facilities & Amenities. There are 18 single-unit camp sites and each site is limited to 8 campers per campsite. Picnic tables, fire rings, cooking grills, drinking water and barrier-free vault toilets are onsite. A camp host is available and firewood is available for sale.

Reservations. Reservations are required for the best sites. Reservations can be made online by calling 877.444.6777 or for the hearing impaired, TDD at 877-833-6777. Reservations must be made at least 2 days in advance. Guest must occupy the site within 24 hours or forfeit. Please bring the confirmation letter with you as you must show it to the camp host.

Restrictions & Guidelines

  • Tents and small sleep-in vehicles only, trailers are not permitted.
  • Quiet hours are from 10 PM to 6 AM.
  • No utility hookups.
  • Pets must always be restrained or on a leash.
  • No horses allowed in the campground.
  • No glass containers are permitted at nearby Slide Rock State Park or Grasshopper Point Swim Area.
  • Motorbikes may only be used for entering or leaving campsite.
  • No radios and amplified devices permitted.
  • 7 day stay limit.

Camping Fees. Current camping fees are $18 per night, $7 additional for a second vehicle. Holders of Golden Age or Golden Access, America-the-Beautiful Senior or America-the-Beautiful Access passes will receive 50% for overnight camping.) Fees and camping guidelines are subject to change without notice.

More Information

Always call for the latest information, fees and conditions. Since the elevation in Oak Creek Canyon is about 500 feet higher in the canyon. the temperatures at Manzanita will be slighter cooler versus the temperatures in Sedona.
