Banjo Bill, Halfway & Encinoso Picnic Areas

Banjo Bill, Halfway and Encinoso picnic areas are located in close proximity on the banks of Oak Creek in scenic Oak Creek Canyon about 5 miles North of Sedona. Easily accessible picnic areas enable you to enjoy a snack or a banquet surrounded by this magnificent scenery of redrock country. Each of these picnic areas has its own unique character and each has hiking trails and the clear water pools of Oak Creek nearby. Picnic tables, barbecue grills and vault toilets are available. Banjo Bill has 12 sites, Encinoso has 12 sites and Halfway has 8 sites. There is no drinking water at Encinoso. Camping is prohibited in all picnic areas.

Season and Hours. All 3 areas are open all year and are restricted to day use hours between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM from Memorial Day through Labor Day and from 8:00 AM to dusk the rest of the year.

Banjo Bill Fees. Fee is $8.00 per vehicle up to 5 people. Walk-ins are $1.00 each. The Weekly Red Rock Pass or the GRAND Annual Red Rock Pass can be used in lieu of this fee. Holders of the America-the-Beautiful Senior or Access pass, or the Golden AGE or Golden ACCESS passes will receive a 50% discount.

Fee For Halfway & Encinoso. Red Rock Pass (Minimum $5) or any America The Beautiful or valid Golden Pass. Red Rock Passes are available at several places but NOT at Halfway. Pick one up prior to getting to Halfway Picnic Area.

Directions. Go North from Sedona for about 5 miles on Highway 89A and look for the signs. The picnic spots are on the west side of US 89A.
