Sedona is well-known for its festivals, celebrations and signature events held during the year. Sedona comes alive with excitement and celebration, welcoming residents, visitors and tourist from around the world.
The Sedona Marathon has enlivened and thrilled the city bringing in hundreds of runners and enthusiasts from all over the country. A full marathon, half marathon, and a 5k opens participation up for everyone. Running in Red Rock country has got to be life-altering and for this high-energy, world-class marathon, Sedona is the perfect venue.
Film Festival February/March
For five days generally the first weekend in March, Sedona is transformed into a haven for independent and documentary film buffs. It gets bigger and better every year with over 125 films, including foreign films, shorts, animation and student films. Celebrities come to present their films and conduct workshops on filmmaking. No doubt Sedona in the very near future will become one of the film festivals that launches great films and new careers.

Sedona Jazz on the Rocks, Founded in 1981 gives grants to young aspiring musicians and preserves jazz for future generations through education and performance. For five days, its annual September Jazz Festival brings some of the world’s greatest jazz musicians to various venues around Sedona. The Festival showcases a diverse array of jazz performers from legendary to emerging coming together for five days of incredible music.

Seonda Plein Arts Festival is a celebration of Sedona's extraordinary beauty as seen through the eyes of 30 of the finest plein air painters in the country. The weeklong festival will feature painters all over town - on the streets, trailheads, creeks and vistas capturing the beauty of the Sedona area on canvas.
A magical event for the young and young at heart! Over a million lights dazzle visitors who stroll the resort grounds of ILX’s Los Abrigados. Close to fifty whimsical and highly creative holiday displays are fabricated by families from the Southwest, depicting festive seasonal themes. Everyone gets to vote on his or her favorites too! The event benefits its hometown, local charities, and dozens of families each year.
The beautiful Tlaquepaque Arts & Crafts Village is set aglow with the lighting of 6000 luminarias by hundreds of participants. Filling all the courtyards, walkways and parapets with golden light, this is truly one of the most memorable among all Sedona events. Fantastic choral ensembles, carolers, musicians, and dancers bring to life the wonders of the holiday season.
